Haddow Attempts to Gain Control of the Local GOP?

Close on the heels of revelations about the Pete Candland Cabal’s 4th of July forgery, we received submissions about his mentor and cabal co-leader, Mac Haddow’s, attempts to take control of the Prince William County Republican Party. This is the only post we have ever put up based solely on the word of local Republicans, without corroborating documents or statements of other parties, so we urge the reader to read as a skeptic would. We’ve even considered the possibility that some of the submissions may have come from Haddow or his co-conspirators, who look to advance their cause against internal Republican enemies by having us post something like this.

Mac Haddow, as our regular readers know, is Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland’s appointee to the County Strategic Planning Committee, Chair of the Joint Gainesville-Brentsville Budget Committee, sometime Supervisor Pete Candland staffer, spouse and father-in-law of sometime Pete Candland staffers, sometime board member of a nonprofit supporting Pete Candland’s “efforts”, mentor to Candland, de facto leader of the Haddow-Candland cabal, and, we believe, chief architect of the character assassination smear blog, the Sheriff of Nottingham.

During the Republican primary season in 2015, the Haddow-Candland cabal was soundly trounced by the reasonable wing of the local Republican Party, both in the primary elections and during the county’s budget season. Additionally, thanks to incompetence in managing Republicans unable to get their party’s endorsement who then ran as independents, the Democrats gained control of the School Board for the first time in a generation.

With the moderate Mike May retiring, however, the Haddow-Candland cabal was able to replace him with malleable and stolid cabal member Ruth Anderson, putting the cabal one vote away from at least dead-locking, if not controlling the Board of Supervisors. To extend his control Haddow reportedly then exerted influence, primarily through cabal member Jeanine Lawson, to elect new party leaders at the county level who, unlike the extremely conservative and generally honorable previous chair, Bill Card, lacked knowledge and standing in the party and could easily be intimidated and controlled by the Haddow-Candland cabal.

Haddow was successful in accomplishing the latter at the county GOP level and then moved on to his local Gainesville Republican Committee. There we find that the chair, again a conservative who is generally considered a reasonable and decent human being (we’re not naming him) was unsatisfactorily vicious and malleable for Haddow, nor sufficiently capable of being intimidated for Haddow’s taste. As a result, Haddow we’re told maneuvered to try to get this individual replaced by none other than Haddow’s own son-in-law.

If true, as we think it is, this is again an illustration of the standard operating procedure of not only the Haddow-Candland cabal, but Haddow himself. Unable to exert control directly because of his various past misdeeds (jail time for violations of federal law as a government employee, lobbying activities that would have benefitted Muammar Khadafy, smear blogs, lawsuits against nonprofits, etc., etc.), Haddow works to place people he can control in positions of authority. He’s done it on the Board of Supervisors in the form of Pete Candland, Jeanine Lawson and Ruth Anderson. He’s done it in Gainesville Supervisor Pete Candland’s office in the form of staffing it at times with himself, his wife, Reece Collins, and his son-in-law. Now he’s doing it with the local GOP.

Many national Republicans are expressing all sorts of angst about turning their party over to Donald Trump. Forget that. Perhaps local Republicans should be most concerned about is turning their party over to Mac Haddow.

Where does that bloated, obese, old man get all his energy? I get exhausted just reading about all his trash! I wish Deutsche, Anderson, and Lawson would stick up for themselves and stop this madness, even they must realize that Haddow is no good for the county. And where is Pete’s wife? I used to think she was a genuine person who cared about the community, why hasn’t she put a stop to all of this ridiculous nonsense???

This interpretation of local Republican party politics is consistent with what I have observed as well. The rule or ruin style of this faction poses a threat to local government, especially the schools.

I would almost rather have Trump than Haddow…..wait…I sort of do. Isn’t Corey a Trumpeter?

I’m convinced that Mac Haddow has something on Pete Candland or there is no way a devout Mormon like Pete would kowtow to him or tolerate what he does on Pete’s behalf. Look at Romney’s position on Trump. Haddow is a lot worse than Trump and he directly harms people with his attacks in public and using the Sheriff blog. How can Pete live with himself unless he’s a de facto hostage of Haddow’s?

He absolutely has everything on Pete Candland. Pete Candland has had his hands in all of this mess from the very beginning, Haddow can take him down in a split second, and ruin his life forever. And Candland knows that is exactly what will happen.

I can personally vouch for you that the Sheriff of Nottingham posted lies about me and which candidates Prince William Federation of Teachers supported with phone banks. When one of our members posted a comment to dispute that another anonymous comment was posted in support of the lie. Most bloggers own up to their identities, but not the Sheriff! Now you know why.

Bill’s right. I remember that post from when the Sheriff was trying to turn Maureen Caddigan against the teacher unions. He claimed that they had run phone banks for her opponent in the last election.

Yes! It was during the tax rate debate in the last county budget adoption process.

Pete is naive, he saw how Haddow got an unknown electrd(Orrin Hatch) and Pete thinks Haddow is a genius, frankly Pete thinks anyone with an IQ above 80 is a genius when he compares to his own intellectual attributes. Haddow is a cancer in PWC as is entire cabal.

The problem is that Haddow is great at getting you in office with his unethical and slimy tactics but then doesn’t know when to quit. People are starting to see and ask questions, it won’t be long before the whole cabal is taken down just because people are tired of the counterproductive negativity, it’s only a matter of time.

I believe that Candland started out with the best of intentions which is why Stirrup convinced us all in the Gainesville district to vote for the loser. Now he doesn’t have enough tissue paper to wipe off all the SH*T on his shoes from where he steps every minute of every day.
